Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use hooves.co.nz. Effective 25 September 2026.
What Hooves does
Hooves provides a New Zealand marketplace for individual animals and small lots. Visitors may browse published listings. An account is required to post, save animals, or message sellers. Hooves does not handle payment, take possession of animals, arrange transport, or become a party to a sale or trade.
Your account and posts
Keep your account information accurate and do not let others misuse it. Post only animals you are entitled to offer. Describe them honestly, including breed or mix, age, sex, health or husbandry details you know, quantity, location, price or trade terms, and availability. Use photos you have the right to share. Update or remove a listing when it is no longer available.
Animal welfare and lawful transfers
Buyers and sellers are responsible for suitable care, safe transport and handover, and any applicable identification, movement, traceability, biosecurity, and animal welfare requirements. Respect a seller’s stated intended-use preference, including whether meat use is acceptable. Do not use Hooves for unlawful, deceptive, or cruel activity.
Deals are between users
Check the animal, seller or buyer, and terms before committing. Agree directly on payment or trade, collection or delivery, and any records needed. Hooves does not verify every listing or guarantee an animal, user, price, or outcome. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply when a seller is in trade.
Moderation and availability
We may remove content, pause listings, or restrict accounts to protect users, animals, or the service, including for misleading or unlawful activity. We may change or stop features as the service develops. Contact us if you believe a listing or message needs attention.

Email support@hooves.co.nz with questions or concerns. New Zealand law applies to these terms, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you.
